A Pink Polka-Dotted Baby Shower

I had a fabulous time co-hosting my beautiful friend's baby shower. Her sister, Erin, and I decided that a pink and polka-dot theme would not only be festive, but also perfect for a new baby girl. In addition to pink polka-dotted favours, decorations, and ribbons we asked the guests to "think polka-dots" when wrapping...the results were absolutely adorable!

Jessica - The beautiful new mother with Baby Myra

Adam - The doting father

{Favours} Our favours were a hit! Mini pink, white, and polka-dotted boxes wrapped in paper & ribbon, and stuffed with a handful of chocolate kisses!

{Handmade Prizes} Stamped & embossed stationary with a special note to the winners "Thank you for celebrating Jessica and Baby Myra". I made several sets in a variety of colours!

{Decorations} I wanted the decorations for this shower to be simple, yet elegant. We went with a variety of pink and white flowers and wrapped each of the vases with a pink polka-dotted ribbon. We also found some beautiful paper stars in pink & polka-dots (thank you Kim!).

These Paper Stars are from Martha Stewart's line of crafts and can be found at Michaels.

{Details} I absolutely love attention to detail, especially when it comes to special events, such a showers. Here, we tied pink ribbon to the stem of each wine glass and to the top of each pencil.

{Games} As guests arrived, we asked them to look closely at three jars filled with little goodies and to guess how many were in each jar. Each of the winners were able to take home the jar and its contents!

One of my favorite games to play at a baby shower is the "Baby Quiz". It's filled with cute baby related questions, as well as questions pertaining to the new baby, mother, and father.

At the end of each shower, I always present the guest of honor with custom thank you notes and pre-addressed envelopes. One less thing for the new mommy & daddy to worry about.

A Little Sneak-Peek!

I'm co-hosting a baby shower this weekend for a long-time friend (20+ years!). I've been busy with the preparations over the last few weeks: pinks, grays, dots, and more! Here are a few sneak-peek photos, but I'll be sure to blog the whole event on Sunday!
{Custom Thank You Notes} Every time I host a shower, I always provide the guest of honour with personalized thank you notes and addressed envelopes. All the busy parents need to do, is post them!

{Favour} Hidden inside these charming mini-boxes are a "sweet treat" for the guests to take with them. I'm using pink, white, and polka-dot boxes for this shower.

I can't wait to celebrate Baby Myra!

Peony Note Cards - Featured on Etsy

I was so excited when I arrived home today, to find that my Peony Note Cards in "Robin's Egg" had been featured on Etsy.com! I've been super busy these last few months working on orders, not only to the US and Canada, but also the UK and Australia. I've also had a lot of fun filling custom orders for my amazing clients!

Personalized Bookplates

For the past few months, I've been working on a variety of hand-stamped stationary. I've really enjoyed exploring different colours and papers, and coming up with unique pairings for my shop. I thought I'd try something new, so I decided to work on some bookplates. As they evolved, they became a little bigger, more rectangular, and stamped with images such as peonies and robots. Here are the final products: Robots in Red and Peonies in Robin's Egg.

Recently, my friend, Jeni, suggested I create some "masculine book plates". Watch for them in my shop later this week: Flourishes in Black.

abc - working on children's stationery

I really wanted to work on something new for my shop this weekend and I thought children's stationery would be a great place to start. I hand stamped and heat embossed "abc" in pink & green, and then blue & green, on 8 flat note cards and envelopes. I think note cards for kids is a great way to encourage writing and correspondence. These cards are perfect for thank you notes to relatives and friends, as well as just for keeping in touch.

In addition to children's stationery, I think these abc-themed note cards are ideal for baby shower thank you notes and teacher gifts!

Be sure to check them out in my Etsy Shop!

"Clutch" aka "Studio Dog"

Clutch is an extremely sweet and gentle brindle boxer, who loves to be cuddled up next to anyone willing to have him. Whenever I'm working on products for my Etsy shop, Clutch is close at hand. He can usually be found right at my feet, snoring away. He's the perfect company! Here he is getting a little bit crazy...I barely had time to grab my camera, and take these shots.

Blooms in Rosebud

The holidays are practically here, and everywhere I look it's red & green, silver & blue, or hues of gold. Today, I thought I'd work outside the traditional holiday colors. Simple hand-stamped rosettes in a shade called "rosebud". Why not think pink this holiday season?
